Light Tape creates style at the Earl of Doncaster Hotel

Light Tape was recently installed at the Earl of Doncaster Hotel in Doncaster, South Yorkshire as part of the refurbishment of the hotel’s restaurant.  Reopening under the name of, Cafe Bar Concerto, the restaurant is in keeping with the traditional Art Deco Style of the rest of the hotel and whilst the Light Tape is used as part of an ensemble of different lighting styles around the upper part of the room, it also offers the added benefit of providing safety lighting around the lower areas, distinguishing the varying floor levels and small steps and helping to prevent accidental tripping. The comfortable ambience of the restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere in which to dine and the overall effect of decor, lighting and 1930’s character not only exudes the opulence of a bygone age but also helps to draw you back for more again and again.

Add a touch of light around the upper edges of the walls in a room, at ceiling height to add height and interest. You can create the” sky scraper” effect and bring design ideas to life whilst effecting a touch of class as you combine Light Tape with other lighting forms to really bring a room to life. With Light Tape the only limitation is the limits of your imagination.

By simply adding 1/2” Light Tape© around the edge of the risen floor areas and across the steps leading down to the lower level of the dining area you not only address the possibility of a trip hazard but effectively highlight and enhance the floor  area too. LumaGrip™ a Step Change in Anti-Slip, Illuminated Nosing Technology.

Illuminated stair nosings have been available for many years using LEDs but they have always been bulky, complicated, high maintenance and expensive. LumaGrip™ is set to change this with a range of illuminated inserts that replace existing infill in standard Aluminium and uPVC nosings. LumaGrip™ also comes with the added benefits of having a higher anti-slip rating and a glare free illumination.

Standard illuminated nosings using LEDs have, due to their size, been limited to the front of the nosing on the face of the riser which means they can be seen only when going up the stairs. For LEDs to be bright enough to illuminate the lower tread, the resulting glare can prove visually distracting and possibly even a safety hazard.

LumaGrip™ uses Light Tape’s patented Electroluminescent technology combined with a transparent, anti slip 50mm wide tread that is illuminated without glare and can be seen when going both up and down the stairs.

LumaGrip™ Illuminated Anti-Slip inserts have been developed to fit into standard Aluminium and uPVC profiles, timber stairs and decking.
LumaGrip™ is available in a variety of sizes with either 6mm and 12mm Light Tape® illuminated strips for both indoor and outdoor applications in a variety of Light Tape® colours.

LumaGrip™ connections are embedded in an ip68 rated resin making the connections waterproof for outdoor use.

Light Tape®
